TSAS student help make the Fall 2009 UNH Woodsmen Meet a Success!
Students from four of the seven program areas within the Thompson School chopped and sawed their way through a successful fall woodsmen team schedule. The Thompson School students who participated are: Arielle Unger (ABM), Ben Marshall (FT), Evan Flewelling (FT), Gregg Barron (FT), Nick Haskell (FT), Jeff Herlehy (CT), Billy Kunelius (FT), Adam D'Entremont (FT), Adam Taschereau (FT), and Jared Johnson (FT). TSAS Forest Technology program purchases new wood chipper!
The Thompson School Forest Technology program recently purchased a brand new Vermeer BC1000XL wood chipper, thanks to a great deal from Vermeer Northeast. The chipper will be used to chip brush and trees in the Arboriculture class and slabs produced in the Sawmilling class. This chipper has all of the latest safety features and will be a great addition to the Forest Technology program. Have ax, will travel; UNH woodsmen team hosts Spring Meet
Meet Christiann Unger. Beauty queen. Lumberjack. You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who combines two such diverse endeavors. But the 20-year-old Danville native appears just as comfortable in front of a camera as she is behind an ax or a saw. The reigning Miss Gate City, Unger is also a member of the University of New Hampshire woodsmen team, which is hosting the 62nd annual Spring Meet this weekend. Story >>>
