  • Maine State Licensed Veterinary Technician (Since 1993)
  • President/Manager of The Critter Barn Inc – Pet Grooming/Boarding and Farm/Pet Feeds and Supplies Business (Est. 1994)
  • Previous President of  the NH Veterinary Technicians Association
  • 20 years experience working in veterinary clinics.
  • Previously managed an animal shelter and now provides animal shelter services through The Critter Barn Inc.
  • Interned as manager of a well known equine breeding facility.
  • Provided worldwide technical support for IDEXX Labs veterinary diagnostic equipment.
  • Served on Thompson School Advisory Board since 1996.

  • Director of Behavior Sciences at the Animal Medical Center of New England in Nashua NH
  • Published research on animal shelter adoptions in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association
  • Contributing author for the books: Shelter Medicine for Veterinarians and Staff and Mental Health and Well-being in Animals
  • Writes a monthly pet column in the Nashua Telegraph Newspaper

Hobbies or Interests:
When not working Michelle enjoys spending time with family and friends outdoors. She enjoys camping, biking, gardening and playing in the snow.

Michelle has coordinated and taught continuing education for the 50+ employees at the Animal Medical Center of NE. She has also presented at professional conferences and countless seminars for the pet owning public. She is excited to teach college students and share her professional experience working within the small animal field.

Chris Bohman: Grooming Instructor


Chris is a graduate and award winning groomer of the Pedigree Career Insitute, a graduate of Rivier College, and the current owner and operator of Luv'n Scrub Pet Grooming, LLC. Chris has also competed in the 2005 and 2009 Intergroom Groomer of the Year and 2009 Chris BohmanExtreme Challenge! In addition, Chris worked for many years with a local 4-H dog club.

The Applied Animal Science faculty feel that the students benefit greatly from Chris' knowledge and experience. She confidently provides the students with a strong introduction into the grooming world. She has patience and provides the time to teach students new techniques and top quality grooming for each and every animal.

Chris understands that communication is extremely important in the grooming profession and should there be any questions regarding your pet's day of beauty or if you wish to talk to her in person, please feel free to call the grooming shop and Chris will be happy to discuss your grooming related concerns.
